Jon Favreau teases the scale of what's in store for Mando and Grogu in The Mandalorian season 3. The Mandalorian has proved a commercial and critical hit for the Star Wars universe, successfully kickstarting the franchise's move to live-action TV. The show follows bounty hunter Din Djarin, AKA the titular Mandalorian, as he navigates a post-The Return of the Jedi galaxy with his would-be Jedi companion Grogu at his side.

Detailed by Collider, during Brazil's CCXP event, Favreau teased The Mandalorian season 3's upcoming epic scale, describing a Mandalore-centric season 3. Despite giving little away, Favreau hints at the show's upcoming space battles, while also calling it a "very ambitious season.
I will say that the scope of it is getting bigger, we have really cool space battles, we have lots of Mandalorians, we have the planet of Mandalore which we've been talking about for a long time. We get to see the Mandalorian culture, and many of the wonderful actors you've seen in previous seasons return, and you'll see them all work together on this show.
Despite Mandalore being rich in lore, the planet has yet to be properly introduced into the live-action Star Wars realm, receiving its biggest on-screen appearance in the animated The Clone Wars series. But now, thanks to its importance to Din and The Mandalorian's future, one of Star Wars' most interesting locations is finally getting the screen time it deserves.
While all signs point to the show's continued success, The Mandalorian still has big shoes to fill, especially after Andor. With the latter demonstrating that the franchise is finally not afraid to take risks, the rest of the live-action Star Wars universe has a lot to live up to. With The Mandalorian season 3 closer than many anticipated, viewers don't have too long to wait to find out whether it can build on Andor's achievements and deliver on its truly epic-sounding scale.
