Northern ReporterStudents at the University of Manchester have barricaded themselves into the vice chancellor’s office and are refusing to leave in protest over soaring rents.
The students say university security guards are “trying to break in” but have so far been unsuccessful. They are due to rise by just 2.3 per cent over the 2022-23 academic year, far below inflation which has risen above 10 per cent.: “We didn’t to break in, we just walked in last night and no one noticed until this morning.
