The German tactician took over at Old Trafford from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November 2021, but things have not gone as he would have planned with the side having failed to make any notable progress.
Upon his appointment in Manchester, it was confirmed the 63-year-old would move into a two-year consultancy role from the end of this season.With Ajax Amsterdam boss Erik ten Hag's arrival at the Theatre of Dreams now imminent, the current interim boss has now confirmed he will take over as the new head coach of the Austria national team.
"I will take over as national team manager of Austria at the end of the season but will continue my consultancy with Manchester United," Rangnick said, per"I'm really looking forward to playing my part in helping United become a real force again."It is reported that Rangnick's consultancy job at United will encompass six days a month for the next two years, so there is scope for him to fulfil both duties.
