Man United overcome FA Cup hoodoo to beat Brighton on penalties and set up Man City final BHAFC MUFC FACup
After normal and extra time finished 0-0, it all went down to penalties, but Solly March’s effort, the 13th of the game, flew over the bar to handNeither David de Gea or Robert Sanchez could do much about the other penalties from both sides, which were all taken almost perfectly.
Erik ten Hag hauled off Bruno Fernandes in extra-time to raise eyebrows as one of United’s best penalty-takers with Wout Weghorst coming in. Marcus Rashford thought he scored in extra-time but his deflected effort was saved in brilliant style by Brighton star Sanchez.United had opportunities to break the deadlock towards the end of the first half, most notably through Bruno Fernandes.
