While Romelu Lukaku has faced quite a bit of criticism recently, a Manchester United legend has surprisingly praised the Chelsea striker after his shock interview.released an interview on Thursday with the striker detailing his unhappiness at the club.
Blues manager Thomas Tuchel opted to drop the Belgium international from the squad completely, while a number of former players and pundits were not pleased with the interview. Former United defender Gary Neville praised Lukaku for being open and speaking the truth, which he hopes more players will do.
"We have to applaud Romelu Lukaku in some ways for being brave enough, or whatever you would call it, to come out and speak the truth," he said. "He is experienced. We have to imagine he knows those words will travel back and the impact those words would have."
