All the road closures and diversions in place for Manchester Caribbean Carnival this weekend
Manchester Caribbean Carnival is back this weekend for its 51st event, marking 75 years since the arrival of the Windrush generation.
Taking place across Moss Side and Hulme, the annual celebration brings together Manchester’s thriving Caribbean communities with a bright and energetic parade, delicious food stalls and good vibes sound tracked by the rhythms of Reggae, Calypso and Soca. The carnival will start at 7am on Saturday August 12 with a traditional J’ouvert, signalling the beginning of the weekend’s celebrations. The event will then get underway with the parade, featuring a wealth of dance troupes, expected to set off from around 12pm.As part of the Manchester Caribbean Carnival, there will be some road closures in place over the weekend from Saturday 12 until Sunday 13 August. Manchester City Council have confirmed the following road closures and diversions.11.
