The airport said that it was not anticipating any 'further disruption' for Monday after a major power cut led to hundreds of flights being cancelled on Sunday
Manchester Airport has announced that flights are set to "run as usual" on Monday following a weekend of significant delays and cancellations caused by a major power outage. The disruption began in the early hours of Sunday, leading to the cancellation of 66 outbound flights and 50 inbound flights by midday, as reported by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
They also advised travellers to "It is always advisable to check the status of your flight before you travel to the airport." Mr Woodroofe stated: "When Terminal 1 and 2 can't depart passengers for an entire morning there is going to be an impact. And I'm really sorry that happened and we're now making sure as we look forward, that impact doesn't carry on into tomorrow."
