-- More details coming out about a man accused of fatally shooting an alleged robber early Wednesday morning inIn court on Thursday night, prosecutors confirmed he owned more than 25 weapons and only had a license for five of them. His arraignment was rescheduled after the judge recused herself from the case.
It appears the judge signed a search warrant for the home of Charles Foehner, which was connected to the investigation, but there was information that she may have had or didn't have information that made her biased.Foehner, a 65-year-old retired doorman, stood in court after facing charges of criminal possession of a weapon. Prosecutors say a warrant led to a search of his home that revealed he had more than two dozen weapons, including pistols, shotguns, and an AK-47.
Detectives say on Wednesday at around 2 a.m. Foehner shot and killed a 32-year-old man who was trying to rob him at 82nd Avenue and Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens. In court, prosecutors said Foehner made statements to detectives during an interview, including,"I pulled the gun out of my pocket and shot the guy." As they showed him video of the shooting, he was able to give them a play by play.
