A man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for a March 2020 shooting death in Aurora has been sentenced to prison.
Octavis Styles, 26, was sentenced on Monday to 32 years in prison, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office. Styles pleaded guilty on March 18 for the death of 22-year-old Surajadin Mohamed Ahmed.
On March 21, 2020, Styles and Thomas Boles went to Ahmed’s home, at the Windsor Court Apartments, in the 10900 block of East 16th Avenue, to purchase marijuana, according to a DA’s news release. Styles and Boles brandished handguns and threatened other people in the residence, and Styles fired three shots through a door which struck Ahmed. Styles and Boles grabbed several large bags of marijuana and fled.
