It is claimed a Manchester United star ignored Erik ten Hag's instructions during their 6-3 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday. Read more ➡️

Citizens duo Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks to give Pep Guardiola's side a resounding win over their crosstown rivals on the weekend. Having been 4-1 down at half-time, the Red Devils improved in the second half, scoring three goals through Antony and a brace from Anthony Martial to avoid a repeat of their 6-1 defeat to City in the 2011/12 season.

However, following the result, many, including Arsene Wenger, criticised wingers Jadon Sancho and Antony for failing to contribute defensively in the fixture. United legend Paul Scholes also seemingly took aim at the pair, posting a picture of Ryan Giggs and David Beckham on Instagram along with the caption:"Anyone remember when wingers used to help their fullbacks?", Antony failed to adhere to his manager's instructions to help right-back Diogo Dalot in defence, with Ten Hag said to have had to remind the Brazil star to defend even during training sessions.

It is claimed the Dutch head coach spoke to the winger specifically about this prior to the match on Sunday, but it appears the 22-year-old did not follow his manager's orders on the pitch. With the team having struggled to cope with the onslaught from City in that first half, Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez reportedly raged at the dressing room at half-time, with it being claimed their shouts could be heard by staff along the corridors at the Etihad Stadium.
