Weghorst also caught the eye at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the Netherlands after coming off the bench to net a late brace against Argentina in the quarter-finals. Manchester Evening News reported that the Dutch striker appeared to wave goodbye to the Besiktas supporters after scoring in the 2-1 win over Kasimpasa on Saturday night.
