Manchester United could reportedly trigger Mason Greenwood ’s year-long contract extension this summer in a bid to try and get a higher fee for the attacker.
Following an internal investigation last year, United concluded that the player would not continue to play for the club after being charged with attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault in January 2022 - charges that were dropped in February 2023. The report suggests that the club are hoping to sell him for £40m this summer, with Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid interested. Borussia Dortmund have also been linked but are mainly plotting to lure United loanee Jadon Sancho back on a permanent basis.
