Houston Police Department officers responded to a nonfatal shooting Monday night in a strip mall parking lot.A man was shot in the lower back Monday night in a strip mall parking lot, according to Houston Police Department officials.
The man was taken to a hospital where his condition was stabilized as of Monday night, Lt. J.P. Horelica told Metro Video Services. When officers arrived near the intersection of Westridge Street and Bartell Drive, there were people trying to render aid to the man, but they had not witnessed the shooting.
“The witnesses that were actually on scene during the incident took off before police arrived,” Horelica said. The man who was shot was unable to give a statement to officials Monday night so information on what happened was very limited, Horelica said.
