A man who alleged that he was shot in the arm by police officers chasing robbers in Durban in KwaZulu-Natal has lost his claim for damages. The KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban dismissed Senzi Eric Ngwazi's claim for damages after it found there was no wrongful act and that the actions of the police were justified.
The incident in question happened on 21 December 2013, when, at the intersection of Queen and Grey streets in Durban, a robbery took place at a music store, which led to a shootout between the suspects and police officers.
