The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has shared more information about a police shooting that injured a suspect in Canmore on Feb. 24.

The pursuit continued until the suspect got stuck in snow in a cul-de-sac, when the RCMP officer fired at the vehicle. The driver then fled into nearby woods but was eventually found and taken to hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. Police dogs and tactical officers were called to track the suspect down, Mounties said shortly after the incident. RCMP also received help from a Calgary police helicopter.
