A man was transported to hospital Tuesday evening after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 at the border of Etobicoke and Mississauga left him trapped inside his car beneath a transport truck.
Around 7:15 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police reported there was a crash on Highway 401’s eastbound collector ramp, at Renforth Drive toward Highway 427, involving a tractor-trailer truck and a car. Toronto Fire told the Star that crews arrived to find the car was jammed under the truck with the driver inside, who was unconscious.Paramedics told the Star that the 27-year-old man is in serious but stable condition.The eastbound collector lanes of Hwy. 401 were closed east of Dixie Road and not expected to reopen before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
