A 42-year-old man has been declared brain dead after his family says he was beaten and shocked with a Taser by Montclair police.
The man's mother was distraught at a Monday press conference in which the family demanded justice and accountability for Antonio "Tony" Ibañez.
According to the family and their team of lawyers, Montclair police officers came in and used a Taser and batons to detain Ibañez. "The victim was inside her vehicle with her daughters when confronted by the suspect, who she believed was under the influence of drugs," police said in a press release.
