Man killed in fiery, rollover crash on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton identified [Breaking]
A 21-year-old man who died after a rollover crash on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton was identified Wednesday as an Inglewood resident.
Deshon Johnson was headed north in a Toyota Highlander with two passengers about 1:30 p.m. Sunday when the SUV swerved, crossing all northbound lanes of traffic, the Medical Examiner’s Office said in a news release. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The SUV overturned, continued down an embankment and landed on its roof in a drainage ditch on the Marine base, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. The SUV then caught fire.Paramedics and California Highway Patrol officers arrived and pulled Johnson and his two passengers from the vehicle, authorities said.
