A man was shot and killed early Sunday in a parking lot between Pierpont Avenue and 300 South.
Salt Lake police responded at about 4 a.m. to reports of a person being shot near 128 W. 300 South. Police arrived at the location within minutes where they found "a large and chaotic scene," according to a news release. A community member was attempting life-saving efforts on the man who had been shot when police arrived.
Officers took over life-saving efforts but the man later died of his injuries at the scene, according to police. The man's identity has not been released. Two people were arrested for "interfering with the investigation" but the shooter has not yet been identified, police said.
