The Port Elizabeth Regional Court has sentenced a 20-year-old man to an effective 18 years behind bars for aggravated robbery.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said Zolile Mfeketho was arrested in September 2016 for the murder of 19-year-old NMU student, Asadullah Ajimudin. No further arrests were made at the time. Naidu said the NMU student was clubbed to death with a cricket bat at his Summerstrand residence in August 2015. He was sleeping when the intruders entered.
Naidu said Mfeketho was found guilty on Monday of aggravated robbery, but not for murder and housebreaking.
