Kamari Adams was fatally struck in July 2022 while watching a street race on Bessemer Road in west Birmingham. A Jefferson County grand jury in September issued indictments for manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident with injury or death against Zenardo LeGrant Marshall Jr., 20. The indictments were made public Wednesday.
Marshall was initially arrested by Birmingham police earlier this year – in January – and released on $30,000 bond. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Kamari was a pedestrian struck by one of two vehicles that were racing on Bessemer Road.The indictment against Marshall states he was driving a vehicle in excess of posted speed limits.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
