No one was injured in the robbery at a Dollar General in the East Akron neighborhood.

AKRON, Ohio — An armed man entered a Dollar General store, firing a shot before taking cash from a register in what police described as a “brazen” robbery in the East Akron neighborhood. The robbery occurred at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, police say. A worker at the store tells police the suspect fired the shot before demanding all money from the register, rushing behind the counter to grab the cash. No injuries were reported.
Police are continuing to search for the suspect, who was last seen running east from the store located on the 700 block of South Arlington Street. Police reportedly found evidence on Roscoe Avenue and other areas near the store.Anyone with information can call detectives at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Individuals also can send tips by texting TIPSCO to 274637.
