Friends and emergency responders performed CPR, but could not save the man
Emergency crews were called to the lake in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a man in medical distress.
The man, who was reportedly an inexperienced swimmer, had been out for swim in the lake with friends, according to Const. Mansoor Sahak, spokesperson for the North Vancouver RCMP, when he began struggling and eventually sank underwater.Emergency crews including District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services and B.C. Ambulance paramedics were called to the lake and took over performing CPR.The man was declared dead at the scene.
