One person has died after a rollover crash Monday in Carbon County.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a man was driving west in a Ford Escort on U.S. Highway 6 near milepost 215 — about 20 miles northwest of Helper — around 3:45 p.m. when the crash occurred.
The driver lost control and spun out while using the westbound emergency lane to pass two other westbound vehicles, UHP said. The car spun across both westbound lanes, the center lane, and both oncoming lanes before going off the highway and rolling. UHP said the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and nobody else was in the vehicle with the driver. The victim's name has not yet been released.
