A man has died after he was struck by a car.
Emergency services were called to the road's northbound carriageway, between the White Moss and Whirlies roundabouts, at around 8.30pm after a man was hit by a Volkswagen Golf car.
The 50-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been made aware.He has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence. An investigation is now underway to establish what happened and officers are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.Sergeant Andy Currie, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said:"Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident.
"We would be keen to speak to anyone with information or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area on Friday evening.The road has now reopened after it was closed to allow an investigation at the scene.
