While it has been a difficult season so far for the Premier League champions, 18-year-old fullback Rico Lewis has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Pep Guardiola.
The teenager has started in all of the last three matches for the Citizens across all competitions, having been preferred at times over Joao Cancelo, who has since joined Bayern Munich on loan, and experienced England international Kyle Walker., City are desperate to have Lewis commit his long-term future to the club, with his current deal expiring in June.
The club are reportedly willing to offer a 400% increase on his salary that would see the talented youngster go from earning £5 000 a week to being paid a handsome £25 000 every week. Lewis, who has made 14 appearances this season, is expected to pen a new five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium.
