After the match, Haaland was spotted having an awkward interaction with a staff member inside the Etihad tunnel. You can watch the footage below. The Norway international was seen walking into the tunnel with the match ball in hand, he then appeared to barge into a staff member who looked like he was telling Haaland to go in a different direction.
Whilst fans speculated on social media, the reasons behind the altercation between Haaland and the staff member remain unclear. On the back of his hat-trick, Haaland said in his post match interview: “I'm back. No problem for me. I'm always hungry. It's a new season and I'm ready for it.Image Credit: Getty
Whilst City assistant manager Juan Manuel Lillo said: “This guy was born scoring goals and he will go through his whole life scoring goals, so it will be no surprise if he manages to get the same figures as last season. But it doesn't matter if he doesn't.“Today in the first half none of the team played well. We didn't find that freshness in our play.”
He continued: “Our opponents kept the ball well, and that made it difficult for us. So it would have been difficult for any No 9 in that game, particularly with the characteristics Erling has.”Featured Image Credit:
