Manchester City dropped from first to third in the Premier League with defeat at Arsenal, but Pep Guardiola was unconcerned after the full time whistle.

Back-to-back Premier League defeats for the first time since 2018 and three losses out of four. This is what supporting Manchester City used to be like, not what it's currently like.

City players knew it too, some quickly putting the disappointment behind them as they left the Emirates. The squad headed over to the travelling fans to thank them for their support a little quicker than usual, and headed off the pitch dejected, but not beaten. City might have lost against Arsenal, but on the balance of play they were not bettered. They also knew they were far below their best.

This one was a better one to lose, though. Both results against Arsenal this term haven't been disastrous, and that there is plenty of room for improvement from his own side. They were without Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne, who will both be back for the return game, as will John Stones, who made his comeback off the bench.

Others were already thinking of international duty, with a number dressed in their own clothes rather than a club tracksuit and ready to jet off to their countries for the next two weeks. Ederson left with former teammate Gabriel Jesus and Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes as they headed off to Brazil, while Julian Alvarez also left fairly soon after full-time as he links up with Argentina.
