Manchester City have identified a shock long-term replacement for Julian Alvarez who will add competition for Erling Haaland, according to a new report.

He is an imposing figure, standing at 6ft 1in tall, and has already collected eight caps for the Iceland national team.The Athletic report that Oskarsson, despite his relative lack of experience, is being considered as a backup for Haaland by City.It is claimed that he could be available for around £17 million - meaning City would still be able to keep hold of most of the total £81 million fee they are set to receive from Atletico for Alvarez.
However, the report adds that they are 'unlikely' to pursue a move for Oskarsson just yet, but it is a deal that they could revisit at a later date.clubs believed to be keen - meaning City could change their minds and decide to try and sign him.
