Manchester City take on Real Madrid in the Champions League and Pep Guardiola and his players are chasing legacy
Pep Guardiola doesn't want to talk about another Treble, but the chatter will only get louder after this weekend.
"Of course, obviously inspiration and motivation," Bernardo Silva said ahead of the second leg of their quarter-final with Real Madrid. "We know how well this team has done while I have been here for seven seasons and we want to create that legacy and to do another Premier League to do six in seven years and four in a row.
Guardiola won't allow his squad to be distracted by such thoughts, insisting that Treble talk can only happen when they are only a few games away. He has been hugely impressed that the players have put themselves into this position again for April though, and the idea of legacy drives him as well. "We need to feel the pressure that you don't want to lose the game. If you think we have done it already, we will not have this piece of hunger to compete against these teams," said Guardiola.
