Manchester City had agreed an £80million deal in principle with West Ham for the Brazilian but look set to miss out on their man.
City had agreed a deal in principle for the £80million transfer of Paqueta from West Ham, with Pep Guardiola having identified the Brazilian as a priority signing. The Catalan pushed forward on interest following the long-term injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne.
Despite some hope that the deal could still be done, Sky Sports reports that the deal is now off. It does not go into detail as to why the move has fallen through.Elsewhere, 90min reports that Bayern Munich have joined the race for out-of-favour City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Phillips in recent weeks, and now Bayern look set to rival them. Thomas Tuchel is said to be the driving force behind any interest, with the former Chelsea boss keen to bring in a specialist holding midfielder.
