Aurora police arrested a 32-year-old man in connection to the fatal shooting of a woman Saturday.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office on Thursday announced it was filing a first-degree murder charge against Gonzalez-Acuna in the death of his 45-year-old girlfriend. It also filed three counts of misdemeanor violation of a protection order against him.
Police received a call at about 6:45 a.m. on Saturday to a home in the 3000 block of North Peoria Street where they found an adult woman who died of a gunshot wound. The person who made the call had left by the time officers arrived and the gun was no longer there either, according to police.Gonzales-Acuna is scheduled for a court appearance at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
ARREST MADE: Members of Aurora Police's FAST, DART and SWAT teams apprehended the suspect in this case.Final charges will be determined by the Adams County DA’s Office.
