Man batters dog outside Scots shop in sickening attack

SSPCA officers are now urging anybody who recognises this man to come forward.

The sickening attack took place outside a shop on Montrose Street, Clydebank, at around 12.30pm on 10 October. The SSPCA have shared images from the scene in a bid to find the individual involved.

When confronted by a passerby the man claimed he was hitting the dog because it was chewing the lead. He then goes back into the shop and when he returns to untie the collie, it remains visibly frightened. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a navy hoodie at the time of the incident. The animal welfare charity believes he lives locally in the area.

Scottish SPCA chief inspector, Laura McIntyre, said: ““The dog he had with him is a black and white collie and appeared to be relatively young from the video footage.
