In interview, he said he was appalled and disgusted in his behaviour
One reveller's drunken birthday night out landed him in the cells after he violently assaulted two people. Nikki Clamp went to the Jolly Rodger Social Club, in New Ollerton, for his 36th birthday on Boxing Day.
After verbal toing and froing between the men, Clamp chucked his drink in Mr Smith's face, injuring his teeth with the glass. Then, when police arrived, Clamp said he was going to faint and refused to walk.Officers moved him to a police van, with his legs hanging over the side door. As one tried to help place his legs in the vehicle, Clamp drew his left leg back and 'at full force', according to the officer, 'aimed a boot at my face, striking me in the face'.
He was ordered to pay £200 compensation the the policewoman and £1,000 compensation to Mr Smith, and he was barred from the Jolly Rodger, Forest Road, for a year. Mitigating, Simon King told magistrates : "What happened on Boxing Day...it was my client's birthday. He went out, and I think everyone can agree, he had too much to drink, and that is the cause of his problem."
