Police investigating murder of Shane Whitlas have made an arrest tonight
In a brief statement, the PSNI said a house in Lurgan has also been searched.
A police spokesman said: “Detectives investigating the murder of Shane Whitla in Lurgan on Thursday 12 January have conducted a search of a house in the Lurgan area and arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of murder.“He was arrested today, Tuesday 17 January, and has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning. Detectives are reiterating their appeal for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
The development came after CCTV of two gunmen was released by police. Detectives say they believe Shane Whitla was shot in an alley off Woodville Street in the town before staggering to Lord Lurgan Park where he died.Police say information, including photos, CCTV and dash cam footage, can also be provided to police through the Major Incident Public Portal at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/PSNI23S01-PO1.For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here.
