An altercation between two men resulted in injuries to both, with one being stabbed, GSPS reports
Greater Sudbury Police report that officers were dispatched to Regent Street at around 1:25 a.m. in regards to a weapons complaint.
“Information provided was that two men had been in an altercation at a residence on Stanley Street, resulting in one of the men being stabbed by the other,” GSPS said. When officers arrived, they report finding a man who had sustained what appeared to be stab wounds. The 28-year-old was transported by ambulance to Health Sciences North with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Officers then attended a residence on Stanley Street where they located a man matching the description that had been provided,” GSPS report. “The man had sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation.” GSPS placed the 40-year-old man under arrest. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.Police said the two men were known to each other and they believe the incident to be targeted and isolated.
