A 61-year-old man was arrested after hitting another man on the course in a dispute “over taking too much time on the course” at the nine-hole Hubbard Memorial, according to a probable cause statement filed in 2nd District Court. The 61-year-old pulled up in a golf cart, shouted at another man and then shoved him, according to the statement. The alleged victim used a putter to try to keep the man at a distance, but the 61-year-old allegedly grabbed him and hit him five times around the head and neck before another group arrived to break up the fight, police wrote.The victim had a cut above his right eye and his face was swollen, according to the statement.
The 61-year-old was booked into the Davis County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. He has not yet been formally charged with any crimes.
