A warning has been issued after police received reports of two unknown people who are pretending to be Blackpool police officers.
The scammers are described as male and female with southern accents. The unknown people are ringing people from a withheld phone number and state that they’ve arrested a male called ‘Alan Nash’ and are carrying out enquiries. The victim is then questioned about who lives at their address, do they do any online shopping or banking and if they have jewellery in their possession. Luckily, those targeted so far have realised it is a scam and refused to give out any details.

We ask people to be extra vigilant, and if you get a phone call from someone saying they are from the police then please obtain a name, rank, collar number, station they are based and a log or crime reference number.
