72-year-old Royal Lovejoy appeared before a judge Thursday morning.
HOUSTON — A man accused of impersonating a doctor and most recently a federal agent was in court Thursday morning.
During Royal Eugene Lovejoy appearance, we learned new details about him, including how his most recent arrest went down. Lovejoy, 72, is facing two charges. One charge is practicing medicine without a license, a misdemeanor charge he picked up last August for allegedly providing someone a vaccination exemption certificate.Man accused of impersonating doctor, Secret Service agent facing 2 charges
Prosecutors said Lovejoy was arrested earlier this week after officers tried to serve a warrant for that misdemeanor charge, but when they pulled him over, they said he identified himself as a federal agent. They said he showed them a badge that turned out to be a novelty item, an ID stating he was part of the bail recovery team. They later determined that wasn’t true.
In court documents, Houston police investigators allege the person who Lovejoy gave those COVID-19 exemption documents to told them Lovejoy gave off the impression he was a highly distinguished military officer based on his uniform and service ribbons and medals he would wear.
