A 51-year-old man has died after being crushed in an industrial incident at a freight car manufacturer in Hamilton.
Emergency crews were called to National Steel Car, at Kenilworth Avenue North and Burlington Street East, at around 7:50 p.m. Monday night.
Hamilton police confirmed Tuesday morning that the man died of his injuries and said the Ministry of Labour is now investigating his death. The ministry said that two inspectors attended the scene and issued one requirement to the company, though they did not specify what that requirement was.On its Facebook page, National Steel Car said Tuesday that it was cancelling its afternoon and night shifts.
