The homeowner followed the man to the area of the Stratford General Hospital, where the suspect was tracked by police to a property on West Gore Street and arrested. The man was found in possession of 1.5 grams of methamphetamines, police said. Police say Greg Verellen, 45, is charged with committing an indecent act, voyeurism, two counts of breaching probation and possession of a controlled substance. Verellen is already charged with arson from an incident on Jan. 19, as well as committing an indecent act one day later.
According to Stratford police, those two previous charges stem from a dumpster fire set on the night of Jan. 19. Const. Darren Fischer said security camera footage led officers to an arrest. One night later, the suspect returned and once again tried to light a fire before jumping into the dumpster and performing a sex act, Fischer said.
Verellen has been released from custody. He next scheduled in court on April 3 to answer to all the charges against him.
