I read with dismay Ann Bernstein’s article on the critical skills visa regime introduced by the department of home affairs in February ”, April 1).
Liberalising the work visa regime is one of the key pillars of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s reform agenda. The finalisation of the list was thus a key milestone en route to a more competitive economy. Bernstein did a good job of explaining why skilled immigrants are needed to improve economic dynamism, so I won’t labour the point...
