Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has weighed in on talks about the lack of South African goalkeepers plying their trade in the Premier Soccer League.Kennedy Mweene is one of the foreign goalkeepers who has been in the PSL for close to two decades, and feels he is no longer qualified to be called a non-South African.
"I don't call myself a foreign goalkeeper. I don't think there's any difference. It is just an opinion of some people and nothing is wrong with that. In opinions there is no wrong or right," Mweene told the media during the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup. However the Zambian international admits that young South African keepers should be given more opportunities.
"Look, we just need to bring more young local keepers, but also they must prove themselves too. It shouldn't come easy." Gavin Hunt has rejoined SuperSport United where the two were extremely successful during this first spell together and Mzansi reacted to this news!
