The following tips can help you make sense of the Nutrition Facts table – and apply that information to your personal diet

Free sugars are added sugars as well as sugars naturally present in fruit juice and fruit juice concentrates. Once removed from whole fruit, these sugars are “free” to be added to foods for sweetening purposes.The DV percentages, on the right-hand side of the Nutrition Facts table, are useful to get a sense of how much of a nutrient is in one serving of the product.A low per cent DV is a good thing for nutrients you want to limit .
