Veteran broadcast journalist Norah O’Donnell will make history at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight as only the second woman ever to anchor the CBS Evening News solo. She ascends to the top spot at a pivotal moment in politics, domestically and internationally, and at a time when issues around women and leadership are at their most important.

CBS, home to Walter Cronkite, in particular, has a storied history to uphold, and it’s one that O’Donnell takes seriously.O’Donnell’s inaugural broadcast will emanate from CBS’s studios in Manhattan but will relocate to Washington, D.C. this fall.
