'Euphoria' makeup artist Doniella Davy is encouraging everyone to try it.
. But beauty and self-care take on far more forms than just skin-care practices. Even though we may not be seeing many people face-to-face right now, that doesn't mean makeup doesn't serve a very important purpose. In addition to creating endless selfie opportunities, it's a much-needed outlet for creativity — and one makeup artist wants to everyone to know that there are no rules when you feel like experimenting with your colorful cosmetics.
"During the past year I’ve read many messages from people expressing their concern w/ using makeup in a creative way b/c they feel their skills aren’t adequate or they aren’t creative enough. I totally understand the tendency to get intimidated when focusing on the pressure to perfect the makeup application, and I have a suggestion to bust through this wall: Makeup Free-styling," Davy wrote.
Davy continues, "Getting free and wild w/ makeup without a foreseeable outcome is makeup artist therapy. For me, this can interrupt my repetitive artistic tendencies and inspire an open-minded headspace to create," It's like those "breaking the ice" exercises on the first day of school: incredibly awkward, but weirdly effective. 🤷♀️"
