Nadia Albano gives 31-year-old nurse Tara Kalmek a new look
Tara Kalmek is a 31-year-old nurse and needed help with reviving her damaged hair due to over use of hot tools. Tara has very fine hair and naturally curly hair, which was feeling extremely dry and brittle. Her ends were very fragile and while she wanted to maintain the length, it needed to be cut due to severe breakage.
I started by shampooing her hair with KMS Moist Repair Shampoo and Conditioner for moisture and manageability. I applied KMS Moist Repair — Revival Cream onto her ends, as a leave-in conditioner, then sectioned her hair into a central vertical parting. I wanted to create a symmetrical on-length shape to not only compliment her face shape but also create a strong weight line. I eliminated three inches from the back and cut it to the longest length in the front.
Before styling, I sprayed Oribe — Maximista volumizing spray to her mid-lengths and ends, followed by KMS Add Volume — Liquid Dust to her crown for lift. I blow dried her hair with a denman brush using a wrap dry technique for smoothness. I finished her style with KMS — Working Spray for light weight hold and flexible hold.
Makeup:Tara often never wears makeup and I wanted to create a fresh and glowy Spring look. I started with a primer oil to hydrate areas of her skin that were dry and flaky. I then applied a green corrective primer to reduce the areas of her face which had redness. I evened out her complexion with a medium coverage foundation, then contoured her face with bronzer. On her eyes, I used a soft pink cream shadow and contoured them with a plum-brown eyeshadow.
