Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the A582 Farington Road in Lostock Hall at around 3pm on Sunday . It followed reports of an overturned lorry between Stanifield Lane and Fidler Lane.
Pictures shared on social media showed the vehicle on its side near to the roundabout with emergency services nearby assessing the scene. The westbound carriageway remains closed today for recovery works.Traffic alert service Inrix reports that the road has been closed since Sunday afternoon and is affecting traffic heading away from the M65 at junction one. LancsLive has contacted Lancashire Constabulary and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
Inrix reports: "A582 Farington Road Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to recovery work and earlier overturned lorry between A5083 Stanifield Lane and Fidler Lane .
