Several leaders from local and federal law enforcement agencies will hold a press conference to announce a significant drug trafficking arrest.

Proposed federal legislation that would radically transform the nation's criminal justice system through such changes as eliminating agencies like the Drug Enforcement Administration and the use of federal surveillance technology is set to be unveiled Tuesday, July 7, 2020, by the Movement for Black Lives.
According to a press release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas, it will feature local and federal leaders announcing “a significant round of arrests and charges in relation to multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking linked to major cartel.” The press conference will take place at 1 p.m. at the U.S. Attorney’s office at 1 p.m. Among the law enforcement agencies expected to speak include the Drug Enforcement Administration , U.S. Marshals, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Houston Police Department, and Galveston PD.
