A 'majestic' poison ivy mega-plant spotted on a Southwestern Ontario property has earned a Guinness World Record nod
Robert Fedrock of Paris, near Brantford, spotted it a few years ago. The plant measures 20.75 metres, or 68 feet, which dwarfs typical poison ivy plants that are between one to four feet.“It just looked like this great, big hairy vine growing up the tree,” Fedrock recalled in a recent interview. “The vine is about six inches in diameter and I just thought it was massive and fascinating.”
When Fedrock discovered it, the plant was well-camouflaged by a patch of common buckthorn, which has since been removed.
